The paper board used in Lamipak’s aseptic cartons is certified from responsibly managed forestry under PEFC or FSC certifications.

Some of the most recent achievements have been LamiNatural, Lamipak’s first sustainable product, then next-generation aluminium free aseptic carton, LamiPure, and its U-shaped paper straw which have been created with the intention of offering sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions.
R&D is one of the most important pillars of Lamipak’s ambitions to successfully create the next generation of sustainable packaging. These future products can be the solutions to tackle climate change and reduce environmental impact. Its next-generation sustainable products would bring down the carbon footprint by 50% and make the products 100% recyclable. Lamipak has designed sustainable packaging keeping three things in mind. It must reduce the carbon footprint to a substantial level and maximise the recycling feasibility by using more renewable materials, and increase the renewable content through responsible sourcing.
LAMINATURAL, made up of bio-based polyethylene and unbleached paper board, was the first step towards providing the right sustainable packaging for our customers to reach their sustainability goals and tackle climate change. It consists of 85% renewable material and a carbon footprint 10% lower than the standard packaging material. In addition, due to the use of unbleached paperboard, there is an added benefit of reduced chemical usage and wastage of natural resources.
Our next-generation sustainable packaging solution is LAMIPURE, labelled as LamiNatural’s next generation, and is one of our biggest steps towards sustainable packaging where there is no use of aluminium layer in the pack, without compromising the shelf life and barrier properties. The removal of the aluminium layer will not only help reduce carbon emissions by at least 37% but also make the product even more recyclable.
Besides innovations in beverage cartons, the company also offers U-shape paper straws to its customers. U-shape paper straws are a reliable solution, being an environmentally friendly alternative to single-use plastic straws. Composed of 100% recyclable paper, the material is sourced from the Forest Steward Council, an international, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. Since it is entirely made up of paper, the product is also completely biodegradable which can take around 2 to 6 months to return back into the environment. At the structural level, the paper straw is bounded together in three layers with 100% food-grade material, allowing the product to withstand long periods in liquid without the straw’s structural integrity being compromised.
The paper wrapper is another new feature that Lamipak has started offering with its straws. This will not only complement the paper straw product for the customers but also make the packages stand out better with the printed wrapper from the rest.
