It wouldn’t be fair to tease your senses talking about delicious flavour combinations, without leaving you with a recipe. While this isn’t a baked dessert, it is one of my go-to recipes for whenever I need a quick and comforting beverage, with just a tiny little kick of spice.
Spiced Hot Chocolate
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- ½ cup Dark Chocolate
- ½ tsp Cinnamon Powder
- ¼ tsp Ginger Powder
- Set the milk in a saucepan over heat.
- Stir in the sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well to avoid any lumps.
- Once the milk begins to simmer, add in the chopped dark chocolate
- Whisk continuously till you achieve a homogenous hot chocolate.
- Throw in the spices and give it a good whisk, before taking the pan off heat.
That’s it! That is all it takes to whip up a rich, comforting cup of hot chocolate; perfect for a winter night. You can adjust the amount of spices and even play out with different flavour profiles. I for one, love the kick of red chillies in my hot chocolate!
