Melorun® is a natural melon juice concentrate, a cocktail of Superoxide dis-mutase (SOD) and of all the bioactive ingredients of fruit pulp: vitamins, minerals, proteins, fibers and sugars.

The melon behind Melorun® derives its originality from an incredible shelf life due to a concentration of superoxide dismutase (SOD), which is 5 to 10 times higher than that of a conventional variety.

Today, the seeds of this unique non-GMO variety are the exclusive property of Robertet group. Each year, they are entrusted to a small group of long-standing, selected producers. The seeds are planted in the open air according to a reasoned or organic production and the melons are harvested by hand at optimum maturity.

Melorun® is manufactured using an environmentally-friendly and gent-le process involving only mechanical steps without the use of solvents or additives. Successive filtration steps and rigorous temperature management allow a gradual concentration of the fruit’s antioxidant capacities. Finally, through an encapsulation step, our melon concentrate is protected and its bioactivity is guaranteed.

Clinically proven efficacy

The efficacy of Melorun® on physical recovery has been evaluated in sever-al populations of athletes, both casual who exercise moderately and professionals who train intensively.

Melorun® has also undergone numerous field tests since it is supported by a sports doctor specializing in micronutrition, who has accompanied many professional athletes.

The results of these studies have demonstrated multiple benefits on recovery, thanks to an action on both physical and mental fatigue, an improvement in several  stress and inflammation biomarkers, and  muscle and joint protection.

Melorun® efficacy on sports training and recovery has already been demonstrated in 3 studies.  First, a randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical trial was carried out on 38 healthy males resuming sport (35-50 years old). Conducted over an 8-week period, the study focused on the combine effects of Melorun® and a moderate training program on physical condition improvement (Saby & al., IJERPH, 2020).

To go further, a preclinical study was designed in order to assess Melorun® efficacy in the context of an acute and eccentric exercise. Finally, Robertet had the chance to validate Melorun® beneficial effect on a professional women’s volleyball team, supplemented with the melon concentrate for 10 weeks.

Another key finding of this trial was Melorun® protective effect on Magnesium level. As an essential mineral, well known to sportspeople of all levels, Magnesium is involved in many enzymatic systems, energetic metabolism as well as neuro-muscular excitability. When changes in extracellular Magnesium level occur, it often reflects its re-distribution to locations with increased metabolic need, for processes such as energy production or oxidative stress counteracting.
