Creating great tasting natural aromas without heat or pressure
Flavourtech has recently partnered with Danish company, Aquaporin A/S, to deliver a new solution for the natural concentration of aromas and extracts. Aquaporin Inside® is a revolutionary method of natural concentration without traditional heat or pressure processes.
Until now, aroma concentrates have mainly been produced using thermal evaporation which is both energy-consuming and results in a loss and change of flavour and fragrance. Aquaporin’s natural concentration technology uses nature’s own water filtration process to extract water from raw ingredients, and the system incorporates the company’s decade-long experience in application development to bring a powerful and easy-to-use solution to customers.
Flavourtech are offering Aquaporin systems and membranes in the coffee, tea and flavour industries and are particularly excited about Aquaporin’s new laboratory-scale system, the ESSENCE go, which is ideal for early-stage product development. The technology lends itself to the concentration of aromas captured using Flavourtech’s Spinning Cone Column (SCC) as well as other sources of aroma, such as evaporator condensates, or even cold brew extracts. As part of the agreement, Flavourtech have installed an Aquaporin system in their own pilot plant to further develop the technology and are looking forward to creating next-level aromas with their customers.
