Kerry Foods has expanded its Strings & Things brand portfolio with the launch of limited-edition Halloween and Christmas-themed cheese snacks in the UK.

Cheeshape Scareshapes and Wintershapes join the cheese brand’s Quirkies range and will feature 15 new shapes in both Halloween and Christmas variants including a witch’s hat, a ghost face and snowflakes.

As well as the limited-edition seasonal designs, the new range will also feature games and jokes on the inner packaging.

With the aim of celebrating both Halloween and Christmas, Strings & Things claims that its products offer retailers an opportunity to capitalise on the growth of the seasonal periods.

At 71 calories per pack and made of real cheese, the products are said to be rich in calcium and offer a healthy snack option for kids.

“We are committed to making kids snacks fun whilst reassuring parents with a range of healthy options, so as always, the new Scareshapes and Wintershapes Quirkies are made of real cheese providing a source of calcium for healthy bones,” said Melissa Sargeant, brand manager at Strings & Things.

The shapes were made in partnership with research agency The Pineapple Lounge, which conducted research with school children to reflect kids’ favourite spooky and winter shapes.

Harriet Wells, strategist at The Pineapple Lounge, added: “We were delighted to give so many kids across the country creative input into Scareshapes and Wintershapes as a part of our proud partnership with Strings & Things.

“The Strings & Things team have done an incredible job translating the children’s ideas into reality and we can’t wait to see the delight and excitement on their faces when they see these on the shelves.”

Scareshapes are available to purchase now in all major UK retailers, while Wintershapes will arrive in stores from 2 November.
