Daalchini Technologies has announced the feasibility of one-of-its-kind smart mobility and IoT-enabled small vending machines in cabs and buses. Daalchini has so far engaged with over 100 cabs and more than 5 fleet partners to offer 20+ variety of food options through the vending kiosk. Daalchini provides 100% contactless food options through IoT-enabled kiosks that aim to offer home-cooked meals while on the go.

The aim is to reach out to 10-15 mobility fleet partners in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai and serve fresh & contactless on-the-go snacking service to more than 7.5 lakhs consumers monthly while on the go. As per a report by ResearchAndMarkets, the Indian food tech sector is expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of ~39% during the 2021 – 2025 period and is expected to reach INR 1,868.19 Bn by 2025.

Recently, the food technology start-up has also deployed the smart vending machines at Delhi’s key hospitals including Fortis, Max, Apollo, Dharamshila, Kailash, and Delhi Cancer Hospital. Daalchini already has 430+ smart stores in 10 cities and more than 1.2 lakh Monthly-active-users. It also has 190+ franchises and 100+ brands, 29+ Cloud Kitchens selling on its platform.

Elaborating on its mobility plan, Prerna Kalra, Co-Founder of Daalchini Technologies stated, “With our smart mobility proposition, Daalchini will support the cab drivers and fleet owners by providing an extra source of income to them. As hygiene will be top-priority now, drivers will be able to offer contactless on-the-go snacking option to passengers.” 

The category is growing at m-o-m rate of 36% and drivers are getting earning 12%-15% additional revenue by adding on-the-go snacking service to their cabs. We expect the drivers & fleet owners to make 20-25% of their add-on commission at stable state.
