Leo Liu, president, nutrition, AsiaPacific, ADM, said, “The Pinghu facility is a great example of strategic organic growth investments we’re making as we continue to expand our Nutrition business around the world. The Pinghu facility will serve as ADM’s new flavour supply hub for this region, allowing us to leverage our leading-edge technologies in flavour production to unlock deeper value for customers and drive innovation and development with greater speed and precision.”
The 27,000 plus square meter flavour production facility is strategically located within an hour of Shanghai, bringing geographic advantages for customers while providing the company with direct access to top talent.
“The Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone is a national-level development zone driven by innovation and advanced manufacturing systems in the Yangtze River Delta. Today, it is home to a thriving ecosystem of over 300 foreign investment enterprises spanning several high-tech clusters. We believe that having access to this rich tapestry of research, technologies and talent will help businesses such as the Pinghu Site unlock greater commercial value. With robust outputs expected from its operational capabilities, we look forward to the multiplier effect the Pinghu site will have on job creation and economic growth within the region and beyond,” said local Government spokesperson.
The Pinghu facility is located in an advantageous position for raw material sourcing. It features automated flavour lines with advanced dosing technology as well as labs dedicated to flavour production, taste design and product development. A modern facility with advanced equipment further ensures seamless and efficient management of complex processes.
The facility’s ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 V5.1 certifications bear further testament to ADM’s stringent food safety and quality management standards. The Halal and Kosher certified products manufactured at the plant will better serve markets with special dietary needs.
Dirk Oyen, vice president and general manager, Southeast Asia Human Nutrition, ADM, said, “As consumers in Southeast Asia are very accustomed to a diverse range of cuisines and are showing an increasing interest in flavours derived from nature, ADM’s Pinghu site is fully equipped to produce a full portfolio of natural and artificial flavour offerings and customizable taste profiles, helping ensure ADM is well-positioned to meet this growing customer demand.”
