The European Union redefined culinary innovation at SIAL India 2024. They represented the European food and beverage products’ richness. The More Than Food pavilion celebrated Europe’s exceptional quality and sustainability while inviting visitors to try cheeses, olive oils, fresh fruits, chocolates, and more. The campaign’s ambassador, Chef Ajay Chopra, gave live cooking demonstrations to the audience. He blended European ingredients with Indian flavours. Sea Salt and Gouda Cookies with Tomato Jam and Chorizo and Mushroom Spring Rolls were the main creations of this demo. It was a perfect fusion of the two cuisines and he also shared his experience on the evolving Indian culinary landscape. European products growing demand and influence on trends were the main topics of this panel discussion. Counsellor Mr Pawel Stachowiak highlighted the EU and India’s strong trade ties, which accounted for €124 billion in 2023. Speaking at a roundtable on Estonia-India F&B cooperation, he underscored export potential and European products’ sustainability in India. The More Than Food campaign, part of the EU’s initiative to promote its diverse agri-food offerings, aims to connect European heritage with Indian innovation. As SIAL India 2024 concluded, the campaign left an enduring mark, inspiring cross-cultural collaborations and culinary creativity while strengthening EU-India trade relations.
