POSHAN Abhiyaan will improve nutrition among children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. Meanwhile, FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right School’ initiative will make people aware of food safety, hygiene, and the right dietary choices. They will leverage schools to target locals and will come up with interactive sessions. This is how the masses can be exposed to lifelong healthy eating habits.
Vice President of the Indian Diabetic Association, Dr. Anuja Agarwala, emphasises how parental involvement is important for spreading nutrition education. Awareness workshops can give opportunities to schools and parents to collaborate and help children make better food choices.
This will also help the masses be less dependent on processed foods, as the initiative will encourage people to opt for home-cooked meals.
Overall, the POSHAN Abhiyaan and ‘Eat Right School’ programs are doing some sane jobs through such initiatives. It will be interesting to see how it is applied at the ground level.
