M&M’s are getting a radical new look and fans have gone wild over the move.
The popular balls of chocolate are joining the ranks of most other brands and also being produced as a conventional bar.
Previously the confectionery came in bags and were round and, depending on the variety, usually in a rainbow of colours.
The tasty treats, produced by Mars, will now also come in one big block later this month.
The bars were originally launched in the US and Australia last year and now chocoholics can also get their hands on the bars.
While there won’t be any crispy mint or almond flavour treats on these shores, the chocolate, peanut and crispy varieties will be, along with a new flavour, hazelnut.
The chocolate bars will initially be available in Tesco stores form July 17 before being rolled out to other supermarkets and stores from August 17.
Bars will have a RRP – recommend retail price – of £2.49.
Cordelia Linacre, M&M’s Senior Brand Manager, said: “We’ve been inundated with requests to bring M&M’s Bars to the UK – so we’re extremely excited to announce that the wait is over.
“We invite existing fans and all chocolate lovers to get stuck in.”
The bars will be displayed upright on the shelves, rather than laying cross and will be wrapped in similar branding to the bags.
Fans were quick to express their delight with the move and took to social media in their droves.
Nicole Walker simply wrote on Twitter: “Game changer”
‘Christi’ was also impressed with the move, saying: “Yoooo this changes everything.”
While ‘Light Fury Appreciation Account’ added: “I… want”.
