In order to tackle actions to decrease plastic waste and also Nestlé’s commitment to reduce usage of plastic in all its products, the company has launched its new Nesquik All Natural powder in Europe. The All Natural Powder is available in an innovative new paper packaging material which is plastic free and fully recyclable paper pouch.
The launch just came two months after the company’s pledge of making 100 percent recyclable and plastic free by the end of 2025. The pouch which is used in packaging of Nesquik is made of a coated paper from sustainable sources certified by the Forest Stewardship Council that is recyclable in the paper stream. As per the statement released about the pouch, it said that the packaging has been tested to ensure the pouches keep the Nesquik powder in “perfect” condition during transport and storage.
Yasser AbdulMalak, head of the dairy category for Europe, Middle East and North Africa at Nestlé said, “The recyclable paper pouch is the first of its kind, one of our key initiatives towards providing more sustainable packaging across our product portfolio. We have taken that step today to ensure we truly meet consumers’ demand for more natural and sustainable food.”
Nestlé is launching the new Nesquik All Natural in five European markets in the coming weeks i.e. France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. It will sit alongside the existing Nesquik range, and will be rolled out to other European countries in the near future. The plans are also well underway for further products in the Nesquik All Natural range across Europe, to be launched within the year. These also include a zero sugar version.
