Ginmeister-owned Pinkster has launched two cocktail mixes made from recycled, gin-soaked raspberries.
The Gin Jam Cocktail Mix and the Winter Cocktail Mix both have an ABV of 2.5% and are available in 50cl bottles in the UK with a recommended retail price of £10.
“We’ve always been passionate about fresh fruit and quality ingredients, and these launches show how we’re able to recycle our inebriated raspberries into yet more quirky natural by-products,” said Martijn van Buuren, Pinkster sales director.
“For the on-trade, the mixes are designed to enhance our core G&T serves, generate incremental value and add a little theatre. They’re especially ideal for operators of busy bars – just pour in a splash and stir.”
In 2017, Pinkster launched Gin Jam, a mildly alcoholic preserve, which is the base for both mixes.
The recipe has been finessed with lemon juice for the Gin Jam Cocktail Mix and trialled over the summer in sachet format. Additional warming ingredients such as orange zest and allspice make up the Winter Cocktail Mix.
Van Buuren added: “Ginuary or Dry January, we’ve got it covered with the Winter Cocktail Mix, which adds an aromatic twist to a Pinkster and tonic or the lightest hint of fruit gin to a mocktail. Trust me, both are extremely moreish.
“At a time when pink spirits are all the rage, we’re quick to champion the fact that our botanicals include real raspberries. To us, it’s all about the flavour not the colour and, best of all, we’re not prepared to let anything go to waste.”
