India is the world’s fastest growing economy, and the country is among the largest producers and consumers of food. For the first time in India, a number of countries are converging to attend an event organized by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) to showcase Indian food processing industries and attract investment in technologies.
Top CEOs from India and the world over will attend the show. The cherry on the top will be the Chef Sanjeev Kapoor curated ‘Food Street’ Indian cuisine, spices and of course, India’s own super food ‘Khichdi.
India has a massive food market that is expanding rapidly. Its $915 billion farm-to-fork ecosystem includes 1.3 billion consumers. India’s increasing disposable income has fuelled the growth of the world’s largest consumer market.
The food economy of the country is thriving due to attractive economic policies and fiscal incentives. However, India needs more resources to cater to the increasing requirements of its people.
India’s Ministry of Food Processing Industries, in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry, is organizing World Food India (WFI) in New Delhi from 3-5 November, 2017. It is a global event to facilitate partnerships between Indian and international businesses and investors. It is expected to be the largest gathering of investors, manufacturers, producers, food processors, policy makers, and organizations from the global food ecosystem.
WFI offers several opportunities to invest and prosper from India’s huge consumer market.
A gateway to the Indian food economy, WFI provides a vibrant platform to showcase, connect, and collaborate. “World Food India 2017 is an opportunity for the global food ecosystem to partner with India. India is home to a huge potential of customer base of 1.3 billion people, and a growing retail market, which is expected to double in size by 2020,” says Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries.
