With 200 products, 24 Mantra Organic is largest Indian organic food brand sold in the US and international markets. According to sources, the firm is now planning to extend its reach to a million households through one lakh farmers with a total 5 lakh acres under cultivation by 2020.
CEO of the company N Balasubramanian revealed that with the growth rate of 30 to 35 percent, the organic food industry is sustainable for one or two decades.
The company is all set to introduce ready-to-eat and ready-to-drink organic products. “We have carbonated organic drinks and several regional dishes like poha, millet dosa, ragi idli etc in this category. We expect to introduce more such dishes like pongal, Punjabi kichdi, organic wheat noodles so as to attract more consumers,” he told media.
24 Mantra Organic has joined hands with 32,000 farmers having 1.7 lakh acres under cultivation in 16 states across the country. “Our online sales are growing every year and in percentage terms It is higher than the regular sales,” Balasubramanian said.
The total organic food industry is expected to be around Rs 1000 crore, of which the organised sector accounts for about Rs 300 crore.
